Example 1 — betting on Team A to win (৳200 stake)
Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125. If Team A wins, a ৳200 stake returns a total of ৳450 (৳250 profit + your ৳200 stake). If Team A loses, ৳200 is gone.
Example 2 — Team B is the favourite (৳200 stake)
Team B's win odds are 1.25 (Fractional 1/4, American -400). American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100. A ৳200 stake returns a total of ৳250 if Team B wins (৳50 profit).
A quick way to remember odds
- Decimal — multiply your stake by the odds to get the total return. 2.25 means ৳2.25 back for every ৳1 staked.
- Fractional — the left number is profit, the right is stake. 5/4 means ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked.
- American (+) — profit on a ৳100 stake. +125 means ৳125 profit on a ৳100 stake.
- American (−) — stake needed to win ৳100. −400 means a ৳400 stake to win ৳100.
